It's like this: You come home from CRACK! and you're happy. A little bit like you're still on CRACK! mentally. This happiness lasts for a few weeks sometimes. It's not that you want to go back but more like you never really left the Forte. The rest of the year you do what you can to make the rest of the world a better place. Around December usually, you start thinking about going back. A feeling that gets more intense as June gets closer. You start to plan for the next one, try to think of a bigger, better contribution. You want to return to the family, return home. CRACK! is the real world, the rest is just inbetween.

Una Paint_List di quaranta artisti di spicco del panorama contemporaneo italiano, con un background culturale e formativo distinto, sono chiamati a scegliere di reinterpretare la copertina di un disco o customizzare un vinile sulle note della loro Play_List preferita, esposta insieme all’opera di riferimento. Il progetto propone due processi interpretativi diversi: la reinterpretazione della copertina di un 33 giri, ovvero gli artisti si cimentano nella sfida creativa di rielaborazione di un’immagine preesistente, interagendo direttamente su immagini grafiche o illustrazioni già in sé concluse e proprio per questo collezionate; o quello di customizzazione di un disco, in altre parole la trasformazione e rivoluzione concettuale di un prodotto impegnativo, per forma e materiale, come il vinile, operando un ready made dell’oggetto decontestualizzato dalla sua funzione primaria di supporto musicale.

This is a video which summarizes in a few minutes the apotheosic CRACK! 2012, Crackpocalypse, festival of comics, drawings and printed art. This event takes place at the "Forte Prenestino" a majestic and magical space in the city of Rome, a self-managed squated social center since 1986.
